The goals of research laboratory include:

  • Identification of early genetic / epigenetic alterations associated with ovarian cancer development
  • Identification of signatures of chemoresistance and resistance to PARP inhibitors in fallopian tube-derived, HR-deficient ovarian cancer
  • Identification of circulating biomarkers (miRNA) for ovarian cancer detection and in chemoresistance / response to therapy
  • Characterizing the relationship between genetic and epigenetic variation in normal tissues and in cancer development. We are delineating the functional underpinnings of these relationships using functional approaches (CRISPR-Cas9)

The long-term objective of our group is to integrate somatic as well as germline data from whole genomic efforts and in combination with functional studies, gain a comprehensive understanding of cancer progression.
